When singer Bon Scott died of acute alcohol poisoning in early 1980, it would have been easy for AC/DC to call it quits or at least struggle for a while. Instead, AC/DC found a new front-man in Brian Johnson and 'Back in Black' was released six months later without skipping a beat.

Their first five albums steadily established their success in Australia and Europe. Their previous album 'Highway to Hell' brought them international fame - including in the US. With the release of 'Back in Black', AC/DC was ready for the world.
